What causes foot pain?
Our feet are made up of many joints, ligaments, tendons and sensitive nerve endings. Due to this there are many different diseases, deformities, biomechanical conditions or injuries that can cause foot pain.
However, most common complaints of foot pain include:
- Plantar Fasciitis – inflammation of the ligament that runs along the sole of the foot
- Bunions – conditions where “bumps” are formed at the base of big toes due to displaced metatarsal bones
- Hammertoe – a bending of one or digital joints affecting the second, third, fourth or little toe
- Arthritis – an inflammation of one or more joints and surrounding tissue in the feet.
What are the possible treatments?
The first step in treatment of foot pain would be a visit to Family Foot and Orthotics Clinic where our Chiropodist would conduct a proper evaluation. The service that we provide includes a systematic foot care approach and once the underlying problem has been identified we would partner with you to create an individually tailored treatment plan.
