No, a medical referral is not needed. Chiropodists are primary care providers, therefore, no referral is necessary. All you have to do is call us or fill out the appointment form on our contact us page to book your appointment.
Although most private health insurance plans cover Chiropodist services, OHIP does not presently cover any of the costs of a Chiropodist treatment.
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, treatment can be done the same day as the consultation, therefore the appointment can range from 15 to 45 minutes.
** You should bring the shoes that you are using most of the time and bring a list of all of the medications that you are taking.
Typically all treatments are painless. However, if the present condition causes sensitivity/pain then a local anesthetic can be used.
We strongly recommend that you book an appointment in order to ensure that you get the proper medical attention.
** Walk-ins will be seen only if there are available time slots in between regularly scheduled appointments.
